Here are the Viability Rankings for the FU tier. These listings can also be found on the FU website. All mons used in this tier are of 3.41% usage or below in PU. If a mon is in FU tier but is not ranked here, please be patient as the FU pool is very extensive and we cannot get through every single mon in an instant. If you'd like to see a mon change rank, banned, or if a new mon dropped this month and you have an idea as to where you'd like to see it placed, please leave a constructive post here detailing the rank you'd like to the see mon added / moved to, reasons why and evidence supporting the change. Remember, VRs are constantly fluctuating to accommodate the meta as new mons leave and enter the tier. As always though, have fun and we hope you enjoy playing FU!

The risk value of these mons overshadows their reward value and they require massive amounts of support from teammates to cover their very crippling flaws. These mons fall short in the FU metagame.

Great seeing that the VR is finally on the forums! Now we finally have a place to discuss ranks and viability

speaking of which...

Maractus from B- to B

I saw Maractus in B- rank and at first I thought that it was complete garbage. Why should it even BE B- rank?! It looks mediocre at best! Then, it was revealed to me by PrincessHigh that heat rock was unbanned... after I thought about it, it seemed that unbanning heat rock was the right thing to do. After sawsbuck moving up (or banning I have no idea which), I feel that sun is more balanced than before, and now only one mon needs to be banned. I've gone on enough about heat rock though.

Maractus is blessed with the wonderful ability chlorophyll, which gives it a niche over other grass types in the tier. Another thing that carves it a niche in the tier as a wonderful sun abuser is knock off, the wonderfully broken move that we all have a love/hate relationship with. Along with this, Maractus packs a VERY heavy punch with the wonderful stab option in Wood Hammer. These factors, along with its decent 86 attack and 60 speed (faster and stronger than Weepinbell :]) make it a supreme sun sweeper.

The only things holding it back from getting higher imho is its lack of versatility out of sun (basically limited to spiker), how crippled it is without the sun up, and how much recoil it takes with life orb + how little damage it does with its other moves without it. With all of these taken into consideration, I feel that Maractus definitely deserves to be a B rank.

There was already info on FU on the forums. Almost no one runs weather in FU, which means all the things that cripples it without the sun are consistently problems.

I'm pretty sure no one ran sun because we weren't completely aware on the status of heat rock. I'm sure sun will become a little more common in the uture

as for "all the things that cripple it," only one of those things will be a constant problem if you play well, since sun teams aim to keep the sun consistently up, but sun not being up is an issue occasionally. As for "no one runs weather in fu," I've been helping people with semi-weather/weather teams as well as facing a few weathers, so I'm sure weather will become more common in the future.
