Meet The Champions!
Are you the Champion of a League? Would you like your League featured on the forums? This is the start of a Champions feature spread on the forums, starting with interviews. If you are a League Champion, please, PM Hayleysworld on Origin to set up an interview and each week on Sunday evening, this thread will be updated with a new featured League and their Champion!  This messaged approved by Paul Century.

  Welcome to the first week of the Origin Champion Interviews! This week, sat down with Paul Century, the Champion of the Omega League!!!!!

hayleysworld | Are you the Original Founder of the League, if not, how did you obtain Champion? | | I am the third champion the first being Demonic Ferro and then lights back on frost I was given Champion when Lights had to leave showdown and the league was essentially dead. |

hayleysworld | So you rebuilt it when the league died? | | Yes Kanna_vz (who left showdown now), Fiery Dev, and I rebuilt Omega from scratch on Frost we were the only three members when I got Champion. |

hayleysworld | So has your league been on Origin since day one? | | Origin was up a bit before we moved here. |

hayleysworld | Ah, alright I see.
What is your best Monotype and why? What made you choose that type? | | I guess my best is my water team and I choose water for a few reasons one being the obvious, one because Slowbro is water, but mostly because of the coverage it has and the many usable mons if that makes sense. |

hayleysworld | Do you use any other Mono's extremely well? | | I use Psychic pretty well I guess and I like to think I am good with fighting lol |

hayleysworld | If you weren't Omega's Champion, which other league would you join and is there any particular reason why? | | Probably either Void or Lotus mainly because they are also some of the few leagues that have lasted since Frost so I respect that and also because I am friendly with them already. |

hayleysworld | Right, right, that makes sense.
Does Omega have any friendly rivalries and/or allies? | We are kinda friendly with a lot of leagues like Void, Lotus, Heartless, EMG, and Apex. Not saying we dont get along with other leagues but we dont seem to interact with other leagues that much besides like ulc and what not.
and Carnie cant forget them lol

hayleysworld | Do you enjoy the healthy competition of a League vs League? Do you regularly participate? | Depending on the league we are LVLing against I have no real issue, I usually don't participate unless my league needs me as the final member.

hayleysworld | Who would you say is your League's strongest member(s)? If you don't feel comfortable answering, would you say your league excels in any specific areas? | At the moment, I couldn't really tell you who our strongest battler is simply because everyone here is strong at there specific type of battling.

hayleysworld | Do you think you'd be able to beat the other Champions one on one? | haha idk tbh I have admitted I am not best at battling and I think others can agree to that but in the game where hax and crits happen who knows anything is possible.

hayleysworld | On a related note, do you think your league is the best on Origin? | battle skill wise I would say probably not but as far as making a friendly environment and welcoming new members into the omega family I'd say were best in that sense.

hayleysworld | What would you say is your leagues most shining moment? | I gotta say the one thing that i am most proud of my league for is sticking with omega thru all the bs we've been thru, unless most of Origin, Omega was never on EOS or Nimbus or any of those big servers we survived on the smaller servers and through all the jumps and fights we've stuck together.

Do you have any advice for those who want to become a Champion of a large league? | yea I feel we've kinda moved on from "just a league" to being a family the guys here know a lot out me personally and vice versa.
oh any advice well I guess I'd start with finding your core group your E4s people who will stick by you and help after that recruit recruit recruit
and always remember to keep the leagues best interest in mind

hayleysworld | How long has your League been on Origin and been around in general? | | It has been here since the beginning of origin I believe, and was made about a year ago. |

hayleysworld | So it is relatively new in the realm of bigger leagues since as it seems, Heartless has been moving up quickly
What is your best Monotype and why would you say it's your best? | | hm... personally I would have to say my fighting because it is the one I have the most fun using. |

If you weren't Heartless Champion, which other league would you join? | | I would be leagueless helping anyone else if they needed it with teams and other things. (Pretty much what I was doing before the Heartless League.) |

Do you guys have any friendly rivalries/allies? | | hm... none that I am aware of XD |

hayleysworld | so kinda a stand alone league? | | I believe so, however if anyone was to ask to be a friendly ally I would probably accept if the other members thought it was a wise decision |

hayleysworld | Do you like participating in League vs Leagues? Would you say you win more often than not? | | I do enjoy participating in them, however the record would probably be about even considering I am more likely to be testing new teams when battling unless the score isn't tilted in our favor. |

hayleysworld | Without throwing shade, who would you say your strongest battler is and why? You may decline to answer if you wish. | We have many great members who each have their own strengths and weaknesses. As such it is hard to determine who is our strongest, especially in a game so determinate on match ups.
If this answer is not appropriate I would like to decline to answer sorry.

hayleysworld | On a related note, would you say Heartless is the best league? | I would say we have our strengths as a whole and our own weaknesses. Our goal is to work together, learn our weaknesses and help each other find solutions.
I won't say that we are the best because we always have room to improve.

hayleysworld | Does Heartless has a "shining" or "defining" moment? | I would have to say the start of the league would be our defining moment. It gave a lot of us a place to stay, become friends and have a good time. Something that I hope even members new and old feel today.

hayleysworld | Are you the original founder of Alliance? | | Definitely not the founder. I came to be champ from just sticking around and steadily moves up the chain, I was Ground E4 before being Champion |

So then is Ground your best monotype? What made you choose that type? | | It is. I just fell in love with ground when I first got into mono. Seemed to click so I stuck with it. |

hayleysworld | Do you do like using any other types, maybe because you're also good with it or because you like the mons? | | I've enjoyed both ice and electric as well. Both fun to play and present a lovely challenge to run competitively. |

Speaking of that, does Alliance have any friendly rivalries/allies? | | Mm, tough choice though. SWL would have priority most likely, Omega coming next. Alliance is it's own little bubble now tbh. Phoenix could be seen as such I suppose, but that mainly because of the flip-flopping of members early on. |

hayleysworld | Yes, you are both probably tied for largest and most popular league here. Do you like to participate in League vs League's? How many on average do you win? | | Sure, lvls are lovely. Can't say we have a solid win percentage though. They're never taken too seriously so the memes come out to play. |

hayleysworld | Without throwing shade at the rest of your members, would you say is your strongest battler? | I'd say Diagnostic probably, one of the more expierenced members currently in the league at the moment, so he has the time in. Besides, picking myself would have just been too self-centered  |

hayleysworld | WDo you think you'd be able to beat the other league Champions one on one in a grand tour? | I do. I believe I can beat any mono player for that matter. You'll never be great if you don't learn how to have confidence first.

hayleysworld | Would you say Alliance is the greatest Origin League? | Not at all. Recent events have left the league with scrap for members and we're just beginning to rebuild with the change in Champ.
It's a matter of keeping a balancing act of recruiting, organizing, and updating.

hayleysworld | What would you say is Alliance's most shining moment thus far? | Most shining moment.. Making the transition from the old "Royal Guard" ranking Alliance has always had in the past to bring up a new Professor system in it's place. It was the first true step towards fixing what is a severely broken league.

Do you have any advice for those aspiring to be a Champion of a league as successful and powerful as Alliance? | My advice would to be to not even bother until you have confidence in yourself and a thick skin to deal with the inevitable hate.

They didn't want to leave Skymonds League? | | We created Apex in order to stay together but omit Skymond. Yet at the same time I wanted to do things differently than other leagues do. |

hayleysworld | Straying from that, what is your best Monotype? | | I main Water, it's the type I've experienced the most with, it's extremely well rounded. |

hayleysworld | If you weren't Apex Champion, what league would you want to join? | | I have sort of had my eye on Omega, they seem to have a lot of integrity and they have an atmosphere I am comfortable with. |

hayleysworld | Do you like participating in league vs leagues? Do you think you win or lose more on average? | I'm very strict with LvL's, Apex is only allowed to use certain teams. As of late we have been taking them more seriously and more often. I am competitive but not at the expense of disrespecting others, when it's time to play, it's time to play.

| Amb64, our Steel E6, is one of our top players, he got to 1500 Elo without using Heatran.
Tailight is also pretty gnarly as is Tsukki.

hayleysworld | Back to you, do you think you'd be able to win against the other Champions in a one on one tournament? | I don't know if I would win the tournament but I'm sure I would get pretty far.

hayleysworld | Another opinion based question, would you say Apex is the best League on Origin?
In any way you believe it could be, you can give reasons. | I believe we have the most structured and fairest testing procedure as well as the most unique. We do Neutral, Resistance, Weakness, and Immunity. Immunity can be a very big dynamic in how someone plays, they don't get to use moves with STAB.

hayleysworld | Do you have any advice for aspiring league champions? | You should have a vision of what you want to accomplish and why, how you want to run your league. If you don't have a plan, you won't achieve your goals, there won't be any kind of real goal. You have to learn how to follow before you can lead.
