Monthly Monocolor TournamentHello everyone! The idea of having a monthly tournament where your Pokémon can only contain one color seems like a fun idea, right? Well, personally I'd like to bring it to life. Each month, I (vileplume ♥) would like to host this event in The Happy Place. This would take place every third weekend in the month, and colors are always announced at the beginning of each year (and then again at the start/end of each month). Winner each month (up until December) will be put into a neat document stating their winning date and color. Considering there are only 10 colors that classify pokemon, I was faced with a problem. But, after some thinking I found an easy solution. During December-January, all of the colors champ's will face off with one another. The trick is, that you can only use the color you won with. Winner of this Championship will be crowned 'Monocolor Champion of 2016'. Winnings for earning each tournament for just the color would be 50 bucks, and winning the championship could be anywhere from 100-200.
List of Months with Color: February: PINK March: GREEN April: YELLOW May: BROWN June: GRAY July: RED August: BLUE September: PURPLE October: BLACK November: WHITE
I would love to hear all feedback from staff and other users, so please let me know either here or on Origin. Thanks so much for reading and have a nice day! Note: This list is where pokemon colors will be determined bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_color

Monthly Monocolor Tournament
What I like about most in this event is that it's monthly rather than weekly. This isn't too demanding to squeeze into the schedule once a month. My only concern at the moment are the prize winnings at 100 bucks. I would have no problem with that if it were to easily get 32+ participants each month, but I don't have much data to reference for this sort of thing. All in all, I approve and would like to reach a compromise about the rewards after hearing some of the other staff member's opinions on this matter.

How about a Seasonal Tournament
Like One Castform On One Team and the rest is...
Castform-Snowy = Ice Team Winter
Castform-Rain = Water Team Spring
Castform-Sunny = Fire Team Summer
Castform-Regular = Normal Type Team Autum
If this idea is gr8 give it a like! And hopefully it comes out as a gr8 idea

I am sure you saw this one coming, but an Origin SSB Grand Tour where the prize is an honorary staff bros mon, just like we have Piscean and Nathan.
On the non tour side, I'd be interested in seeing if we could hold a contest/event revolving around the current mons, like a team building competition almost, to build a structured team and the best one with valid reasons/explanations wins a small amount of bucks. Or having the users create their ideal mon to balance the meta and presenting it for bucks.
To build off an idea Arken presented before, I was toying with users who could pick their favorite SSB mon pair who works very well together and creating art for it and the best one wins, I think he suggested avatars, so that could be cool. They could create avatars for their favorite pair and which ever one is selected, those staff members will change their avatar to it for a certain period of time and that user gets bucks.
I just feel with OSSB, there are a lot of possibilities to push it even further than just battling. Feel free to sound off

Yup, you know it! I was already thinking of making this a monthly or a bi-monthly event that begins at the start of that month, but I was going to wait until there was only a week left in February before announcing it. I wanted to see if the success for OSSB could actually last, but at least one is DEFINITELY going to happen. It's going to be a sign-up event so that every user from every timezone can participate. It will stall the tournament probably a few days, maybe even two weeks, but OSSB is just that special. The staffmon, if approved, will definitely be receiving restrictions. We can't have a regular user being more OP than the staff. Interesting. Looks like it could be a submission event. I'd like the event to be something like.. Conceiving the BEST Hypothetical OSSB team. Participants will pick 6 Pokemon and explain how these 6 Pokemon would essentially give you a free win if they're on the same team. The submission with the best reasoning behind it should win, which will be decided by a panel. That could be cool, but if you're willing, you could run this event and go on an entirely different route if you want. I will supply the bucks. Nice little sub-competition for our pixel artists. The art competition idea I had before would definitely better now with OSSB. Participants will simply create an avatar for a staff member with some sort of reference to their staffmon. We can have 3 winners (with up to maybe 3 submissions) then offer bucks, an avatar set/fix, AND a badge for winning this sprite-off. There'll be a panel to decide the winner, which could possibly be a big panel (willing staff members + some more). I was only thinking of the tournament, but thanks for bringing up the possibility of these events. I don't really think of events until there's something to celebrate. How could I forget to celebrate OSSB?

How could I forget to celebrate OSSB? I am going to let you handle the tournaments since that is definitely way more your thing, I am not much of a battler, I usually only host very small buck tours but I would love to help the winner design their mon. This is exactly what I was thinking when bringing that idea up, my only issue with it would be deciding who exactly would be on the panel, because they have to know the meta and be unbiased, so I would require assistance selecting people for it. Other than that, that sounds perfect. Again, we are on the same page with how we're thinking here. I think that sounds perfect, again, have to make sure we get an unbiased panel who will be mature for the most part. (no bashing other people's art; thats uncool) So now we just have to decide which one to do first and when to do each one and gather the necessary details and materials. I was also hoping there was something that could be done as a thank-you to the people who helped in staff bros development, namely ASL+crew, as a token of gratitude, maybe a trophy TC would be nice, that might be something to even have yet another event for in place of or in addition to the sprites as TC are HTML so html coders can show off a bit.

Yeah, I'll take care of that. The format might be unfamiliar to most participants, but I want to keep it fair for everyone. Require assistance? I'm confident you can round people up just by asking around - just make sure they're credible people. Piscean is a good choice for a start, but you may have thought of him already. Do you know how many you want? 5 seems good. If you can't get the people or want to double check, just let me know. I'm assuming you'll want to write up the thread for this event, too? As you did with RPS event. Yeah, I want to be in the panel for this one, to be honest, but I want someone to make an avatar for me too lol. I think we'll have plenty of people to choose from that we don't have to worry about immature judges. I think we should start the best team event ASAP before the OSSB Tournament, which I want to hold at the first of March, then the avatar competition can come after that OR we can hold the tournament at the ides of March and hold the avatar competition right after the best team event. As for even more gratitude, I don't know how I'd do that one. I don't know if they want more, they surely won't admit they want more out of humility, but I don't know how I'd handle it. I don't want to say that it's unnecessary, but that's kind of how I'm feeling this time since they are credited at the start of every battle. Feel free to do something for them though.

Yes, Piscean was definitely first to come to mind. I am going to work on this tomorrow and let you know any kind of final decision I make on it so you can stamp the approval onto it. I only brought that up mostly because of the amount of flack the coders have been getting with the amount of changes that have already been made and probably a but of complaining from both staff and regular user sides. I will put together the details for the team building event and present it to you by the end of tonight(thursday), sorry my schedule is off, its 6:30 am. I might do it now, actually, but again, we'll finalize that tonight and I will get a panel together. edit: just realized how tired I sound in this, my bad. As always, thanks for responding and giving feedback Arken!

Lmao It's BT has brought to my attention tonight about how when we run tournament events, it is usually only Monotype, which makes sense in a league server, but not everyone loves Mono and would probably enjoy something new and fresh. We have quite a few ideas already, which we will tinker with and work out the details as I told him I don't want to start them until all 3 OSSB event have concluded. I would really like if a staff member could sign on to this project, if only to serve as an advisor/funds for the event. Let me know your feedback!
